Beach Boxes Card

I had a chance earlier to play around a little with the Stampin' Up Sleigh Ride Edgelits from the Jingle All the Way Bundle and they kind of reminded me of the beach boxes which we used to see when we went down to Rosebud to play on the beach ... so I had to have a go.

Using Sahara Sand cardstock and the Bigshot to create the little house scene and then ran an extra one through and cut off the houses so that I could have a hill at the back without the houses on it. Then I just used my Stampin' Write Markers to color in the beach boxes in some fairly bright colors. I used: Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay, Real Red and Garden Green.

Once the card is masked, use a brayer with Marina Mist to make the ocean section and then sponge some Pacific Point over it. For the sky I used a scrap of cardstock and cut a cloud shape out and used the cloud as a mask to sponge Soft Sky from the cloud shape out over the cardstock, moving the cloud shaped mask around to get random clouds inked onto the card.

The sentiment is from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set which is from Stampin' Up and is the fundraiser stamp set which means for every set sold Stampin' Up donate some money towards the Ronald McDonald House which is lovely isn't it? It is stamped in Lost Lagoon and then attached to Lost Lagoon cardstock and a Whisper White card base.
